Now, you might be wondering what is ulcerative colitis? To put it simply, this disease is an inflammatory bowel disease that results in the patient suffering from inflammation and the formation of ulcers in their digestive tract.

It mainly affects the innermost lining of the colon and rectum. It is a long-term disease which means that you might be able to control the symptoms for a certain amount of time through medication and lifestyle change. But, if left uncared for, it can return.
